The unquestioned leader and
record holder for all bikes in it's class.
The Tuono 1000 R is the only choice for a rider who demands
top
performance both on the road and on the track. Stylish,
sexy, powerful,

more
could you ask for?

Tuono R - dream blue
The Aprilia Tuono R is available
in a choice of three colours, dream blue,
diablo black and ice white. Incredibly precise ergonomics
combined with
amazingly easy control let you establish a perfect feeling
with the bike
the moment you set off, and to help you maximise your own
potential
with the minimum physical and mental effort. Engine performance
is better
than ever. Maximum power is 102 kW (139 HP) at the crank
and maximum
torque 10.9 kgm at only 8,500 rpm. The Aprilia Tuono 1000
R is therefore
among the most powerful of all nakeds.
On the Tuono 1000 R even
the smallest details have been designed with
rigour and finished to perfection as only Aprilia knows
how. The reason
behind so much care and attention is simple: the need to
maximise
performance, reduce overall weight and deliver unrivalled
riding
satisfaction.

Tuono Factory
The Tuono Factory goes one
step further, with a top speed of 166mph
and 0-60 in 2.6 seconds - now that's impressive!
Main styling components
for the Tuono Factory

|
• The frame is a mix of aluminium-silicon
castings and Peraluman 450 pressings, and gives
amazing torsional rigidity despite the fact that
is actually the lightest frame on any bike of this
type, weighing in at only
9,650 grams.
• Ultra-lightweight forged aluminium rims,
specially manufactured to Aprilia specifications,
minimise inertia for even better acceleration and
braking and for even more precise control through
the bends.
• The 43 mm Öhlins upside down fork
is the top of the range in terms of technology and
allows you to find exactly the right
setting for your own riding style.
• At the rear, a fully adjustable Öhlins
monoshock with piggy back cylinder
guarantees superb suspension action and
precision control.
• Carbon fibre parts, including belly pan,
side panels, mudguards and spoilers, have not only
added to the prestige of the Tuono 1000 R Factory
but have also reduced mass to a record 181 Kg dry
weight.

And what about Aprilia Tuono
Accessories?
Aprilia understand that your
motorcycle is not just a method of trasportation - it is
an add-on to your own personal style. The bike you choose
reflects you and therefor you may want to add your own personal
touches with regards to appearance or performance. That
is why they have a fantastic range of accessories to help
you do exactly that.

A. APRILIA STREET LEGAL SLIP-ON
SILENCERS
BY AKRAPOVIC
Slip-on silencers developed in conjunction with Akrapovic
especially for the Tuono. Homologated for road use and conformity
to strict E3 noise and
emission standards. The titanium hexagonal bodiesB terminate
in a carbon fibre tail to give your Tuono an even more aggressive
look. These Akrapovic slipons
reduce your bike’s overall weight by 3.9 kg and improve
performance at medium-low engine speedsB around 5400 rpm,
with a further improvement in power output over 9000 rpm.
Come complete with a certificate of conformity, allowing
you to circulate freely on public roads. Maximum performance
can be achieved quickly and easily by removing the DB killer.
B. CARBON FIBRE PARTS
Race ready lightness and prestige even on the road. These
body parts are manufactured in clear varnished carbon fibre
and give an average reduction in weight of 45% compared
to the standard parts they replace. All parts have been
safety tested and homologated by TÜV and can therefore
be used on the road as well as on the racetrack.
C. FULLY ADJUSTABLE ÖHLINS
STAINLESS
STEEL AND ÖHLINS ALUMINIUM REAR SHOCK
ABSORBER KITS
Specially designed for racing use. These fully adjustable
race tech shock absorbers allow you to find exactly the
right setup for any riding conditions. The hydraulic damping
system offers a wide range of adjustments for both compression
and rebound. Spring preload and unit length are fully adjustable
too. Wheel travel is 133 mm. Every component in the lamellar
damping pack and external adjustment
systems has been developed, tested and calibrated on road
and track to achieve perfect control over the hydraulics.
The aluminium version reduces your bike’s overall
weight by a further 450 grams.
D. ÖHLINS ADJUSTABLE
STEERING DAMPER
KIT
Unbeatable adjustment and shimmy control. Fits across the
top yoke on a single-piece bracket. Provides an ample range
of adjustments to customise steering response and absorb
the shimmy that sets in at certain speeds and over
rough ground. Twin chamber pressurised hydraulics prevent
air from entering the damper and ensure consistently effective
control over the steering.
E. TANK BAG
The ideal accessory for brief trips and long journeys. Expands
upwards to give a total capacity of 26 litres. Detaches
quickly and easily from the tank for use as a back pack.
Made from extra strong nylon with a non-scratch base to
avoid spoiling the finish of your tank. Transparent top
pocket for road maps. Comes complete with rain hood for
total weather-proofing. Stylish black finish with the Aprilia
logo.
F. ADJUSTABLE ALUMINIUM FOOTRESTS
Competitive racing style. Made in polished aluminium, and
CAD/CAM machined from a solid blank. Easy to fit and to
adjust thanks to the eccentric cam fixing system.
G. ERGAL REVERSE PATTERN
GEARSHIFTER
For optimised performance on the racetrack. Made in polished
Ergal, and CAD/CAM machined from a solid blank. Easy to
fit and to adjust thanks
to uniball control linkages.
H. ELECTRONIC ANTI-THEFT
SYSTEM
Specially developed for the Tuono’s electronics. This
system has not been merely adapted but specially conceived,
developed and tested by Aprilia. Protects your Tuono without
interfering with its sophisticated engine and fuel management
systems. Incorporates the latest technology. Homologated
to THATCHAM standard, the strictest international security
standard. Independently powered to avoid running down the
bike’s battery. Displays main battery level as well
as functioning as alarm.
I. PASSENGER SADDLE COVER
Standard on the Factory version. It can be bought separately
for the R version. For an incredibly streetfighter look.
J. REAR PADDOCK STAND
An indispensable aid to servicing in the pits or at home.
Derived from the paddock stand used for SBK and GP bikes,
this accessory proves invaluable whenever you need to work
on your bike in the pits or in your own garage. Makes changing
the rear wheel quick and easy.
Aprilia Tuono Reviews
Here's what others had to say!
Visor Down - on the
Tuono R
The Aprilia Tuono really should have a sign
on it saying ‘Come and have a go if you think you’re
hard enough’. This is a bike with a big presence and
muscles to match so, not being the proud owner of any tattoos,
I felt a bit out of place in its company.
I found this big streetfighter a comfortable bike on longer
trip. From Glencoe to Ballahullish then on the tight twisty
road into Fort William, I enjoyed feeling like a hooligan
on the big twin. Although our trip wasn’t about racing,
I reckon this would be the bike that would manage the whole
trip in the shortest time.
It likes to be ridden hard and being an old model RSV with
no clothes on, its stopping and turning talents were pretty
faultless. Sitting high up behind its wide gold anodised
handlebars gave great visibility, but felt more like being
behind the wheel of a Scania than the bars of a motorbike.
If I were to fault anything, it would be the lack of top-end
rpm and the dated looking square black clocks.
Scarily, I also felt like I’d prefer to bulldoze
other road users out of the way rather than actually come
to a halt. I did like the sit–up-and-beg riding position
though, as it gave me plenty of legroom and wind blast hindering
speeds was never an issue due to the abundance of horsepower.
Visor Down - on the
Tuono Factory
Bullock, for those who aren't from farming stock, is a cow
that has its balls cut off at birth. This causes the poor
animal to become gentler in temperament, grow beefier (if
you excuse the pun) and moo in soprano. A bull, on the other
hand, still has its dangly bits in place and with it a raging
temper, big muscles, a willingness to hump anything in sight
and an aversion to anything red.
A Japanese naked bike is a bullock. It has the same structure
as a bull, but its performance has been neutered and it
now has weight issues. Aprilia's Tuono is a bull, full of
beefy testosterone (or the bovine equivalent), brimming
with aggression and ready for a fight. And the new Tuono
Factory? This beast is an angry bull on steroids.
Like the previous high spec Tuono - the Racing - the new
Factory is basically a stock Tuono with a few trick bits
on it. The suspension is ohlins front and rear, wheels are
lightweight OZ units and there's a smattering of carbonfibre.
The engine is a 2007 RSV-R unit, which has bigger exhaust
valves and makes 6bhp more than before. The net result is
a claimed 139bhp and a weight of 181kg, a saving of 4kg.
Oh, it also gets a bronze coloured frame.
In the UK Tuonos were sold with 190-section rear tyres
as standard and optional 180-section; the Factory comes
with standard 180-section Pirelli Supercorsa Pro tyres.
Okay, on the face of it this may not sound like a hell of
a difference, but this small change has a big effect on
the handling, and especially when combined with the lighter
wheels. According to Aprilia the OZ wheels are 2.5kg lighter
than the stock Tuono's, and with the taller profile rear
tyre the Factory certainly drops into corners faster. Which
is both a blessing and curse. Through higher speed bends
the new tyre/wheel set-up makes the Tuono Factory far more
willing to change direction, but come the slower bends it
can be an issue.
Gentle practicality? Go Japanese. High speed thrills? Go
Aprilia. To read the full review go to the visor down website.

1. Bought one of the first
racing into the country, went for my first ride, came home
and removed my helmet looked in the mirror, I had a daft
grin on my face. Five years on and 8000 miles I still have
the same daft grin. The Tuono is 99% perfect. there is one
fault, the screen is too small I am 60 now and when I get
to 145 mph I cannot hold on for long PS I would not sell
it for a gold pig
2. The Aprilia Tuono 1000
R is a fabulous machine. My previous bike was a 2003 RSV
Factory. Due to a back problem I have chosen the Tuono Factory
because of it's Sit up position
3. Good Points

Pegs are a bit too high for my liking
Not the cheapest to insure
The Aprilia Tuono 1000 is my first V twin, will
be very, very surprised if i ever go back to a boring japanese
inline again.Haven`t done any more than 300 miles in one
day on it yet but could definately be used as a very exciting
tourer!
i just love it,brings out the loonie in you every time so
tis a good job the mirrors are fairly decent so you can
see who might be behind you which more often than not is
nothing cos it goes like stink!!!
It does have the odd niggling fault here and there but has
been totally reliable for me in 6000 mls and have had a
big stupid grin on my face the whole way!!!!
